There's no such thing as a clean break

When we are so close and do so much trade, even if you ignore the island of Ireland (which would obviously be irresponsible).

All that was on the ballot paper was leaving and this and many other variants would do that. Plenty in the leave campaign advocated for staying in the single market, customs union and EEA at various points in time.

Not having a clear option on the ballot paper was clearly a big mistake in retrospect.
