Well reading into EFTA

There is no legislation, political alignment or custom's union.
Also have a choice whether to join EEA.
Only downside is the free movement of people.
All those Icelanders coming over here taking our jobs.

But on a serious note, the benefits of EFTA far outweight freedom of movement and EFTA members have to the option to sign FTA with third country's.

Also by having the option of joining EEA we could theoretically pay for access to EU internal market (although we would have to align with their rules).

But let's say we rejoined EFTA but didn't rejoin EEA we could theoretically sign a seperate FTA with the EU member states, whilst signing seperate FTA's with EFTA members.

We would have access to EFTA FTA's and also have the ability to sign our own FTA's with other international countries without having to do it as a EFTA bloc.

Seems to tick most the boxes of leaving the EU. Unfortunately the red line of ending Freedom of movement is the sticking issue.
