been more beneficial to many UK workers and industries than, for example, the policies of the Tories and probably more than those of Blair as well.
I think this is the big dilemma that Corbyn and others on the left have. They don't like the idea of a trading block like the EU, and EU rules may restrict the implementation of their ideal vision for the UK. But that, at the same time, the EU undoubtedly reins in the worst excesses of Tory free market liberalism.
Which is probably why they've come up with a kind of pragamatic compromise - soft Brexit with guarantees on workers rights - which really appeals to neither side of their members, who are mostly either die hard socialists, or die hard remainers.
