i was at that Oxford game 86

with Nigel (he had a soft spot for them) and i fancied some banter!!

i had a Leeds ticket for our last match of that season (tickets were rare then but as we were champions and Leeds were naughty type fans and i think they were getting relegated but could be wrong) , i for some reason decided to start flashing this ticket gaining much attention and anger from the wild blue jack russells beyond the 2 fences and line of ol bill seperating us, this news of a canary amongst the Oxford fans spread like wildfire and i decided to retreat back into the crowd in slight fear 1 of them may recognise me on way to train after!!

Dropswich won from 2-1 down and i think Terry Butcher got the winner, Oxford stayed up by beating Arsenal after season had ended and Town WENT DOWN in similar circumstances to us the season before

i guess GOING UP GOING DOWN would have been apt then
