It's a concern for me at the recruitment end as I'm a strong believer in social mobility and widening access to the law, but you just dont see a great amount of diversity in the applicants (and there's often a huge gulf between affluent/private background applicants and less privileged ones). Recruiting on merit in a traditional manner doesn't break down those barriers and divising fairer systems is hard.
