Other countries used to regard UKREP with a mix of awe and envy at times

I spent a lot of time working with or against various EU organs (matron!) and it was very clear we were regarded as the masters of the diplomatic game.

I do worry that our reputation in this regard may now be just slightly tarnished by the present contretemps.
