It's always about historical use of a term. If the Nazis were a peace organisation

The term would be widely used like Buddhism.

Instead coloured was a term used in s**t times for black people. Sammy Davis Jr headlining a 6000 theatre but being told to use the side door because the front door said 'no coloureds'

That's where you need to be careful. It's not about banning a term because it sounds right, it's the hurtful history of that term which makes it wrong.
