It’s just so bizarre as a matter of language that “people of colour” is embraced and “coloured people” is anathema. Obviously I know the history of “coloured” and why it is offensive and should never be used. It’s just that the enormous chasm is utterly bizarre as a matter of linguistics.

“Pencils of colour”. “Coloured pencils”. 🤷🏻‍♂️
