West Ham and Wigan.
The trouble with Sunderland is that they've stuck with the same manager through thick and thin, probably because they can't afford to pay him off. Yes they've had some good times, but these have been in spite of uninspiring coaching and dreadful buys (it says a lot when their first choice strikers against Spurs hadn't scored all season - in February, and Kyle got his first ever premiership goal yesterday).
Any of this sound familiar?
With a bit of invention we could have been safe a long while before the last day. For every Man Utd at home there was a Blackburn away etc.
Now look again at West Ham and Wigan - as Jim Bowen would say, "Let's say what you could have won"
