Don’t get me wrong, I have absolutely no sympathy for Chelsea

But it seems to me like the abuse of FFP is a far greater structural problem for football yet UEFA are showing zero desire to go after the teams that are so flagrantly flouring those rules. If I were being cynical, I’d suggest this type of punishment enables footballing authorities to claim some credit for clamping down on certain wrongdoings while turning a blind eye to the bigger issues in which they are directly implicated.
