But if the Pink Un, Sunday 'papers, Rothmans & Official Club Handbooks choose to use the gross figure then I wonder why Can Cits chose to be different? (and why they didn't apply the same logic to away games)

As for deliberately understating gates; with cash admission & owners drawn from honourable professions like transport, wholesale butchery & betting, is it any wonder?
