Probably isn't the player we needed, but as backup for Ashton (not a replacement for him) I thought he was a decent buy. Hasn't clicked for him & he's probably too old.

The centre midfielders we buy reflect the fact that we play two strikers, Huckerby & often McVeigh/johansson who don't tackle back. These players are in the same bracket as Holt and whether you like 'em or not if we can get the best out of them they're needed for a balanced team. Drop Koumas into the midfield (as some have suggested) and it would not stop us being overrun (I believe it would exascerbate this problem)
