Press news in...

We have arrived at Colney where City Head Coach Daniel Farke will soon be speaking to the media ahead of tomorrow's New Year's Day game away at Brentford.

---------------------------------------------------------------

DF: All of the last few games were pretty emotional and with dramatic endings and it is important to sleep at night, speak about it and calm down. We are in a busy period and the next day you have to be switched on to prepare your team for the next opponent.

DF: When you judge our whole year, I just can't praise the lads enough. Sadly we didn't get the perfect ending, but to be position two in the table is outstanding.

DF: When you don't win a game it always makes you want to win the next one and you can't wait until you are back on the pitch. It's also important to recreate and be smart in your recovery when you only have a few days break.
We were all disappointed because it was unnecessary to lose this game, but sometimes you have to handle a small setback. We are used to doing this and we know you can't win each and every game.

DF: We are all ok, everyone is a bit tired because we've got lots of load. All of the players were struggling a bit in the last 10 minutes, but we are all ok. We were totally happy with Ben's [Godfrey] performance in the full-back position and we thought Ben with his right foot would be able to handle the situation and defend everything. He was pretty good defensively and also good for our possession game and a threat in the offence scoring a goal.

DF: For nearly each and every club it's the same so each club will feel tired. We don't have to rest any players in order to keep them fresh for the next league game because it is in 12 days after the cup game.
The teams who rotate too much have problems with consistency, we have rotated a bit less than last season and so far we have got the results. Teemu is delivering with goals each and every game but it's also a lot of workload. It's a tricky balance to make the right decision and keep the rhythm. We have no new concerns over injuries so we will make late decisions on any changes.

DF: To score really consistency over 12 months is a sign of quality. Big compliments to Teemu [Pukki] and all respect. He is always there with crucial goals and goals that bring us in the lead or back in the game. It's oustanding and he is also a team player. He thinks more about the team than himself. To have a striker who thinks more about the team than his personal data is outstanding and he is not only a great player but a great character.

DF: They had an outstanding start to the season and then they had a few injuries and a change to the head coach position. Although he [Thomas Frank] was involved it was a different role and it takes some time.
In the recent weeks they have stabilised a bit more and have gone three games unbeaten. It seems like everything is fitting now together. We have to be at our best to win points.

DF: It is a possession team and a team which likes to control the ball, so it's a bit like Derby. The team who is able to dominate the ball in this game is most likely to win as you exhaust the opponent. Pretty often when two possession sides face each other it's crucial to perform in the key moments.

DF: When you are on such a run you don't have time to analyse it [12 game unbeaten run], you wait until the summer break to look back. After the loss against Derby you are a bit more disappointed that the run comes to an end but hopefully we can start the run again and we will try our best.
