I was at the postponed game

I was at the postponed game along with many City fans, could tell something wasn’t right when we arrived with so many outside the ground around 45 minutes or so before kick-off.

Eventually we were let in – not sure of reason why, maybe due to crowds outside or the more basic reason that the loos were inside and a number of people needed to use the facilities.

The problem bit was the end in front of the away fans up to around the edge of the penalty area which had been in shadow and was frozen – a few fans asked the stewards if they could walk on and see for themselves. There were also around a dozen braziers on the pitch trying to get the ground to thaw – made for an interesting picture.

From Walsall’s point of view the game was big pay-day for them, away end full so they did all they could to try and play the game, but there was no chance whatsoever from what I saw of the frozen area of the pitch.

Couldn’t get to the re-arranged game due to work sadly.
