A foo belated thoughts on that mad game

I actually think that’s the best we’ve played at home for some time.

That said in the cold light of day a draw from a home game where you are so dominant is a chance missed. As good/amazing as that comeback was it really needs to be followed up with 3 points against Derby.

Thought Vrancic had his best game as a CM and we didn’t really miss Mo for once.

Godfrey continues to be impressive and with a little more composure could have 4 goals in the last 2 games.

We could do with Pukki finding his shooting boots again. Despite still scoring regularly he’s missing a lot at the moment as well and he could have had 5 yesterday.

No need to mention again how bad the ref was.

Credit where it’s due done important saves from Krul.

My one minor gripe is something that has been bothering me a bit for a while. Both Lewis and Aarons are amazing and I love wTching them play for us but Lewis does sometimes get stuck up the pitch and leave a huge gap behind him which the better counter attacking sides will try and exploit. I felt he did that two or three times yesterday and yhexdefence at times were all a bit over confident and played themselves into trouble. I appreciate that it’s the ability to play out from the back that leads to so much of our good play and that it’s going to lead to mistakes from time to time but there is still a time and a place to put your pot through it.

Every time I think Hernandez should start Cantwell has a good game and then vice versa. Not sure who I would start on Saturday if it’s a straight choice but suspect injuries will dictate that both play!
