From over here this drone thing is quite amusing.

I don't know how the drone laws work in the UK but here in Aus you can't fly a drone within 5kms of an airport. Its all geofenced so your drone won't even take off if you are within that zone. If you take off from outside and enter the geofenced areas, the drone will turn around and fly to 'home' (where it took off from). It's built into the software by law so it's the same across all manufacturers.

The only way you can fly near an airport is if you have filed a flight plan with CASA and have the documentation for the plan. You have to contact ATC to get a code which you can enter within half an hour of proposed flight. This allows you to fly the the plan you've entered into the system. Only commercial operators can get these too.

Sure drone flights are a nightmare here and it's a bit of a hassle (due to the nanny state) but stops instances like at Gatwick. I suspect you guys will get something similar now after this.
