Last one was the first winter I was here. 1996/7. Believe me it might be nice to watch but

the fact that to get one the max temperature has to be below -4.5 Celsius for at least fifteen days in a row for the canals tomfeeeze sufficiently, makes it a rather uncomfortable price to pay.

Would be interesting to see one now though. I think it might hold interest for the world outside the Netherlands. Would be the first one ever since the development of the internet and social media. The next one might be the one where everyone realises just how mental it is, and even more so how mental it was with the clothing and equipment available a few decades ago. Just home made skates, a couple of woollen jumpers / hats / gloves, no GPS, no mobile phones or other communications, as many sandwiches as you could carry for food etc.
