To be really fair...there's a big difference. This is a tough one for football.

Would I shout sexist, homophobic or racist abuse? Absolutely not and I would want people who did to accept the consequences, but if you start banning fans for dropping the 'C' bomb then there's likely to be hundreds of bans coming up.
Where does it stop? Does the ref no longer wear a hat? Or will Paul Lambert just be a turncoat and not a J###s C?
Because football authorities and the press will be the first to whine when the atmosphere has gone and it becomes sterile.
