But I agree in principle that the model we’ve chosen is the right one. Better than having to start again every time a manager leaves.

However, last season Madders saved our bacon, essentially. Without his incredible season we might have been very close to the drop, and we definitely wouldn’t have players like Pukki without the cash we got for him. Certainly not without off loading Oliveira.
