Absolutely.

I'm not in any way trying to defend idiot drivers here - far from it - but I feel that the indignance of cyclists who seem to think they can do no wrong is way out of balance. Separation is the obvious answer, but there is no way on this earth that cyclists should be out there on the roads uninsured.
The semantics about 'road tax' are just silly. A vehicle is defined as 'a thing used for transporting people or goods'. So cycles are vehicles, and could easily be included in Vehicle Excise Duty rules.
Sorry if you see this as a windup or trolling, I think it's a conversation worth having as do many others.
