I didn;t say that anyone could have done all this anyway but lets be honest, the

bar in football is low and it only tends to take someone performing competently for them to attract attention and be lauded. There are a lot of incompetent people working in football which probably flows from the fact that traditionally people have been given jobs with football clubs who had no real qualifications for the role other than being ex players.

Webber is doing a good job but I don;t regard anything he has done as being particularly revolutionary and much of it is just good old fashioned common sense - its just because its being applied in football where its often in short supply that its so noticeable. I'm pleased we have him and wouldn't want to lose him but not so much because I don;t think we could replace him but because I fear it could de-rail us at a time when momentum is building and part of that is because he appears to have so much control over everything at the club at the moment.
