Ref Trescothick:
APB: No cricket euphemisms evident from his talk. He was a very emotive speaker on mental health issues though. International cricket really does seem a tough gig.
DD: Depended on form, but generally no. Warne was his nemesis. Only bowler to ever scare him was Brett Lee.
Proth: Heavy. (DD, no reference made to Gooch or middles) Liked playing fast bowlers as you could whack it.
Ralf: It was canapes. The mini yorkshire puds with ox cheek were nice, but something tells me they'd be a bit poncy if served up in Yorkshire.
Garry: Yes. He's partial to a sausage or two.
Simon: Can't disclose due to GDPR, sorry.
Other general snippets: Ambivalent towards 100 ball cricket but its success or otherwise will be driven by take up in India (where he doesn't rate its chances). Somerset players have been overlooked. Thinks Root should be a #3 but Root doesn't want it. Generally we're just in a bad patch re 1-3s. Lots who could play 3 although really they're all 4-7s. Lots of interesting stuff around mental health, support networks are far better now than 10 years ago etc. Bangladesh doesn't sound like a fun tour. Best moment in cricket was his 219 when he saw every ball in slow motion down to the stitching.
He was a surprisingly good speaker.
