4 years old because I’m running iOS 12 on the one I was given in 2014. And again it’s not apple doing it. It’s William hill’s Developers. Thing with Android is that the vast majority use old versions because to upgrade to the latest version you more often have to buy a new device than with Apple. Part of this reason is also that Android is customised by most android device suppliers. So for William hill investment in older android platform versions makes more sense than apps for iOS platforms where a huge percentage of users are on the newer OS versions simply because they can be without buying new hardware.
At least that was the case every time we did the research when I was deeply involved in telecoms, admittedly three years ago now. Would have taken a massive change in the Android business model, as well as Samsung etc to change that.
