But the point I would make is that from a distance it may look that things are ‘better’ in America. The fundamentals of the economy etc. are doing better (Although not significantly more so than under Obama). The gains aren’t spread evenly, and borrowing to boost growth is economic childs play.
However this all feels exceptionally short termist and the key fundamentals that bind together the country’s democratic institutions are being eroded under this president.
A few years of modest economic gain is not worth the price of the upending of what has probably been the most successful democratic political system in history.
