There is some serious pedigree

When you look at the level the leitner and stiepernann played at in the early stages of their careers. Trybull too.

Pukki has played at a high level too.

Understandable that the average championship fan / commentator knows nothing about them though. I doubt anyone on here did either.

Add in that all ose, Hanley and Krul would all be expected to do well at this level given background. It’s not that surprising really that we’re not s**t.

But the thing that has made the difference really I think is hitting the jackpot with Lewis and Aarons, and Zimmerman turning out to be excellent when he could have been rubbish. Keeping tettey this summer was also massive.

Other players seem to be growing into it too, I’m thinking of Vrancic in particular.

There aren’t any real weak links, but if we lost tettey and Aarons say, to long term injury we’d have some big gaps to fill. I’d say that’s the biggest risk to our ongoing success.

We will also come up against teams at home that pack the defence and hope to nick a goal (like stoke did). We need to consistently overcome those sides if we’re to stay in the top 2. I am feeling encouraged on that score following our comeback wins v forest and Villa, but let’s wait and see what happens.

It’s been bloody brilliant, long may it continue.
