Why is sacking Worthington *such* a big deal?

The way the Board & Rick Waghorn describe it, replacing Worthintoon would represent an earth-shattering, apocalyptic event. I think to most fans, it just seems like common sense now. Worthington used to do a good job as manager but for quite some time he's been badly underperforming - thanks for your efforts Nigel, here's your payoff & good luck for the future.

In terms of a replacement, Waghorn & the Board keep plugging the line that there's no "obvious answer", no "obvious replacement". However there are a number of young, positive, tactically astute managers with good track records of over-achieving with limited resources (Mike Newell, Phil Parkinson & Martin Allen to name but three) who I'm sure would jump at the chance of managing us. If you're worried about their lack of experience, use Watford's example & appoint an older hand as Assistant Manager. It's not rocket science y'know...
