Well there are plenty of ways but the thing I object to is the suggestion that

diverse (here obviously meaning non-white) = automatically good, non-diverse = automatically bad or in some way backward which is what that guardian author is suggesting and I would venture to suggest is an attitude that has in no small way played a part in the Brexit vote that will have so outraged the likes of said author.

That her kids are "cool " and in some way superior to white provincial dwelling children because they happen to live in London neighbourhoods where kids knife each other on a weekly basis and have some black friends.

Diversity can bring benefits but it can also bring challenges also and frankly it is what it is - it shouldn't be a target to make our towns and cities more racially diverse because its seen as automatically better. I like to live in places because they are nice, not because some kind of ethnic minority or diversity quota is met in the town/city. Similarly i hope my kids will choose their friends because they are their friends and not even giving a moments thought to their race/nationality.
