Barry Skippers Idea Of A Norwich Fan

Season ticket holder. Has been for past 335 years. Father passes down to son etc.

Goes to every home game-however, if it?s a bit ?parky? he might stay at home-if it?s a ?big? game, he?ll bring in a blanket and thermos of coffee. Wears an old woolie scarf, buys the programme.

Owns 10 shares.

Aged 53. Lives in a detached bungalow near Holt. Didn?t like the Premiership as it put the club in the media spotlight and he didn?t like that-increased media attention, bigger crowds, indeed, he hates these bigger crowds as it means that, even if, as he always does, he leaves 5-10 mins before the end, its still a bit of a crush, and he still has a long wait in the traffic. He thinks a crowd of 15?000 for home games is ?sensible? and has written to the club about it. He got a ?lovely? letter back from Roger Munby in response, and, although he didn?t necessarily agree with all ?Mr Munby? said, thinks he is a ?gentleman?-has recently been surprised that the Chairman didn?t recognise him at a couple of recent home games, but then, he is ?so busy?.

Has never been to an away match-thinks they are the refuge of ?scoundrels and troublemakers?. Wonders why the club tolerates such a large and anarchic away following-surely it creates a ?bad impression?. Will drop ?Roger? another line about this-is sure the Chairman shares his concern.

Saw Nigel Worthington walking his dogs at Blakeney Point one Sunday morning. Likes Nigel Worthington, especially as it is clear that ?he likes animals?. His wife doesn?t go to games, but she thinks he is ?a lovely man?. They hope he will always be Norwich manager, as he?s so ?nice and quiet and not one of those mouthy football people?.

Cannot tolerate people singing and standing up at games and regularly tells them to ?sit down? and ?keep the noise down-some people are trying to watch a football match?. Honestly, only last weekend, his cup of coffee was spilt all over his programme. He rang the club, they are going to send him another one in the post.

Hates "these young people" with a passion. Wants National Service re-introduced. Reads the Daily Mail and is relieved that they know just what ?is wrong with this country?. Wishes that Gary Holt was still at the club, as he did ?his bit? for Queen and Country.

Has thoroughly enjoyed this season, and cannot imagine what some people are grumbling about at present. They must all be ?on drugs?.
