Over the last few months I?ve read posts calling for a boycott on match days, entering the ground 15 minutes late, waving white hankies, displaying Worthington Out stickers, wearing Worthington Out T-Shirts, holding up red cards and now there?s talk of a protest march prior to Saturdays game.
The main problem with most of the above is each idea is only supported by a small following which seems to give the board the opinion that it is only the minority in favour of showing Worthington the door. I suspect the majority of fans would now be in favour of a fresh approach but can?t be bothered to put themselves out for the greater good.
Whereas all of the above do go some way to showing the feelings of the supporters I feel the only way to get the silent majority to voice their opinion is at the match. Fuck it, the season is over now so it really makes no difference if we beat Stoke or not so why not get the Worthington Out chants going from the kick ?off and continue throughout the game whatever the score.
How many die hard supporters would prefer us to get turned over on Saturday and see Worthington walk rather than scrape a boring one goal victory and have the plank in charge for another week?
