Mirindinha to Newcastle?

Apparently in Gazza's biography he writes of his contempt for the Brazilian one. Whilst Mirindinha was being overwhelmed with pots of cash and a mint car, Gazza was still on his YTS, or the near enough equivalent at the time. Not being one to let things pass quietly, Gascoigne went out and wrote off Mirindinha's car. Not surprising at all but it would be nice if someone in the know could confirm this.
