I believe strongly that countries working together is better than competing and I believe also that it’s better for Europe itself to have a united voice when dealing with the USA, China and Russia. I believe that having a larger body in control of things which stretch beyond national boundaries, like the European Court of Human Rights, stops exploitation of workers better than local interests would. I don’t believe in petty nationalism and xenophobia (not saying you do, but that does fit many Brexit supporters) and I don’t trust a lot of those who had something to gain from Brexit - shares in large companies and controlling interests elsewhere, for example. Why did Murdoch want Brexit and why would any reasonable person align him or herself with him?
That’s why I think what I do. You can find many specific examples when the EU doesn’t work as well as it might, I’m sure, but I personally think smaller states running their own show is much more open to corruption and exploitation.
Oh, and it’s kept peace, more or less, since WW2, which can’t be bad.
