There are numerous fan groups....

....trying their absolute hardest to try and drum up some positivity and enthuisasm to improve the atmosphere, but without wholesale changes which would ruffle the feathers of many supporters, we are completely unable to implement any kind of change without a massive change of attitude in our own supporter base.

The club are not about to kick a thousand people out of E & D block and let us assemble a list of people to take up that area, they would get complaints from people that don't wish to move, as well as the people who are upset that these people are being upset. These are complaints that the club are not going to be prepared to do anything about.

The option to move to another part of the ground is not really desirable as the Barclay is the traditional vocal area, but it is not even feasible because any singing area is normally an unofficial standing area, and with the Safety Advisory Group already moaning about Standers in the Barclay and Snakepit, they are not about to allow us to move 500 people to the wensum corner or the south stand and cause a third standing area.

Basically, the difference between whats happening in Germany and what happens here, and at most english clubs, is the mentality of people. People have to WANT to be part of something, they need to find pride in our supporter base being supportive, rather than just turning up and being thanked for their fantastic support. I genuinely believe that people believe the line "we've the best supporters in the land" and think this means we're some kind of vocal force, when the reality is we were at times outsung by about 100 Barnsley fans at the back of the away block. It's pitiful.
