It'll be what we call gun time and chip time, I expect.

Gun time is the time from the very start of the race until you cross the finish line, whereas chip time is the time from when you actually crossed the start line to when you crossed the finish time. So I suppose net and gross are fair approximations of that. It can take half an hour or more at big events to get everyone over the start line.

It's what I expected, but was good to get it confirmed. Some race results have several differently named columns of times for various things, sometimes with wildly bizarre abbreviation. But when there's only two, it's usually gun time and chip time.
