Leaving aside all the Halloween puns involving nightmares/werewolves/screaming/spooktaculars/etc the overall performance was lacklustre and Wolves clearly deserved to win, probably by more.
Yes, two sloppy goals from set-pieces, but Wolves carved us open three or four times and should have scored at least a couple more but for stout defensive blocks, some good saves and their own poor finishing.
It sounds counterintuitive to the above, but defensively I thought we did okay and even with three at the back it when we changed things round it wasn't too bad. Attack though! Well, we could have still been playing and not look like scoring, sadly.
Watkins, whilst he worked hard, looked very lightweight leading the line and without Olive or Cam we had nothing to offer... Come in Carlton Morris... couldn't do any worse.
Madders huffed and puffed but had little support and limited options.
Vrancic! Good touch and can make an insightful pass but always seemed on the back foot and quite pedestrian.
Reed worked hard and was tenacious but the Worthing-Wonder didn't have his best game. Played a little too wide to be effective maybe?
Super Tommy? Well he is human after all. Gave the ball away a couple of times and was also caught in possession.
Josh... oh dear! Don't know about falling out of the boat, but looked like he was still on the quayside wondering what was going on around him.
Ivo was my pick on the night as he battled away and privided the only real wide attacking threat.
Hanley looked pretty solid, no complaints.
Cam/Zimmerman/Stieperman - didn't really change much
Wolves were strong and had some quality, they'll be up there all season and with our injuries and squad we would always find it tough to compete.
Move on to Saturday and start again but we need more strength in depth up front... Naismith/Pritchard on the way back, Morris possibly but I think we need a scorer when the window opens.
Time for bed... said Zeberdee!
