The main issue today, as it has been at home all season

is that our build-up play is quite slow, which is totally against Jerome’s strengths. He’s a runner, thrives on quick through balls and running the channels. He’s not a touch player, and seems totally unsuited to Farke’s style of play.

When we do get the ball wide we rarely cross it, usually coming back out and trying to create the perfect goal. If we do cross it then there’s usually only Jerome in the box. Maddison doesn’t run into the box late, the wide men rarely get in there at the far post, and neither holding midfielder ever makes a late burst in there either.

Our style works away from home, but only because Maddison has been scoring wonder goals.

We simply don’t create anywhere near enough chances, and haven’t all season.
