I went to school in Wells. Admittedly not as often as I should have done.

Until fairly recently it seemed to resist the financial pressures of becoming the same as Burnham Market, Brancaster etc, and maintained it's traditional local identity, ie a scruffy run down seaside s**t hole. Now it's gone all artisan bakery, shabby chic furniture, regatta clothing s**ttery. I remember with fondness the night the local fishermen kicked the daylights out of the local skinheads for doing heroin in the public bogs on the sea front. Halcyon days...
