I witnessed this in the last 6 months with something not all that important

but it is a good basis for an experiment

For a year now I've dangled the idea that the quizmaster at our local is fiddling the scores. "but you seem to love a conspiracy"

Me "but here's the facts, we were 15 points ahead going into the last round, we only got 2 wrong which is 20 points. a) lets bypass the question of why we didn't win, b) lets talk about how we managed to finish 4th? It's impossible.

People around me "don't be a sore loser Sam"

Sam goes to the site of the quiz app and asks if a quizmaster can deduct points. App webmaster replies saying yes and it's done to make it fairer to all times, but your quizmaster is supposed to tell you when he does it otherwise he can just manipulate the scores (then asks me who the quizmaster is, but I abstain cos I don't feel like being barred for working it out)

Even though I showed various people the proof, they were still saying "but I don't think he does what you're saying"

Landlord had his last night before a change of licensee. Me "You know landlord's team is going to win don't you? They'll be no where in the running in the first 2 rounds and then he'll announce them the winner even though they're all just chatting and getting s**tfaced cos it's their last night"

"yeah yeah"

Landlord's team wins

3 week's later we're doing the quiz and I don't give a s**t anymore cos it's rigged. All my mates are still playing it and acting like it's a first passed the post thing.......... even though I've proven it isn't

So, do people as a whole hate the truth?
