Agree Sunday roast season is now well and truly underway. (I know, I know - when is it not? But I just feel more like a roast when it's a bit chilly...)
Anyway, made a very fine roast chicken yesterday. With tarragon & garlic butter and lemon (thanks Delia). And outstanding roast spuds, if I say so myself.
BUT - let myself down by not making any kind of pudding to follow. Amateur, and disappointing. Family all too polite to say anything.
Anyway, brings me to my question. What is the best (home-made) pudding to follow a roast?
Is it apple pie? Or some other pie?
Some variant of a crumble?
Or some other wild card entry?
All views welcome. Need inspiration for next week, to do better...
