Especially the away games. I.e. all of those who attended Brentford should have had first dibs and then those who went to the less glamourous earlier home ties.
I have some sympathy for away regulars who missed out but the points system means that they do get lots of benefits i.e. first dibs on Scum tickets and scarce away tickets when we are in the prem. In fact, the demand might have been partly driven by the fact that it can be hard to take kids etc to "prestigious" away games in a normal season as they have no points.
If it is true that the shops / ticket office were just selling loads without customer numbers being required that is a load of old squit, bearing in mind the way that online tickets were limited.
