Anyway it's exactly what like being a fan is, we all keep bungung money at it and kid ourselves we'll win the cup but deep down we really know that we've got no f**king chance whatsoever now as one of the top 6 that isn't good enough to win the prem will chuck the kitchen sink at it to get into europe and keep their shareholders/fans happy and even if by some miraculous set of circumstances, we eventually manage to get promoted we'll get regularly shafted over and over again and be ridiculed by smuglineker smugshearer and smugsavage etc until we panic and sack the manager and keep doing that again and again until eventually after adopting all the models ever adopted in the history of association football, ten years after his sad and lamentable passing, roy hodgson will finally see sense and take over as manager.
