it's nothing short of a godsend here

where a large percentage of taxi drivers are silent but hyper aggressive pricks who'll try to overcharge or rob you in any underhand way they can (short of waving a gun in your face) and are unhinged due to drugs/alcohol/bad upbringing.

Uber drivers have so far been unfailingly courteous, pleasant and fairly priced.

However, it does seem like a ripoff for the drivers as they must make a pittance considering wear and tear, petrol etc. Not to mention being attacked by taxi drivers
