I think Pants was implying that

the government bought the DUP vote in the commons , but what he failed to mention it was only bought for vital votes that would or potentially would bring the government down and Brexit

On other votes i believe they can vote as they please which might not be with the government

I do wonder what his line would be if Labour had formed a government in similar circumstances
