What was our style of football last season???

Seems like a daft question, but now I've watched 6 matches thanks to the wonders of ifollow I feel I've been brain washed. This possession football, slow build up play, sideways and backwards passes, so much hesitation, no cut and thrust. So its changed because last seasons way of playing didn't work out but I just can't remember what it was like last season. Anyone who's memory hasn't been farked with give me a clue please ?
