Why wasn't Wes in the middle just behind Olive?

Farke could have chosen to put Wes in that position as there would have been 2 defensive mids to cover Wes.

Instead, Farke selected Vrancic to play there which meant Olive having to go deeper looking to get the ball.

The 3 behind Olive should have been Wes in the middle, Murph to one side of Wes, then either Madd's or Watkins on the other side of Wes.
