Thing is though it shouldn;t take several months for players to be able to defend

I accept that it takes time to bed in a new system but this is football they are playing, its not like they are being asked to play a completely different game.

I agree with Murphy's point about us having played a bit better than results suggest (and I do have patience in terms of establishing the possession based style - unlike many I sat near at the Sunderland game) but the type of defending we have been seeing has nothing to do with implementing a new system.
