Its interesting yes.

Doesnt make it right!

Of course its about recruitment and filling gaps - however if you've not noticed the armed forces is shrinking......now 'that' i dont agree with (as i'm sure Baldrick, sorry, 'Tombs' will agree) - however we are not twlking Parachute Regiment, Marines or basic Infantry Regiments..... we're talkimg RAF Regiment, who's primary purpose is to protect an Airfield, and secondary purpose is to opparate SAMs such as Rapier..... if the females are upto it then why not? The argument about pregnancy is valid however if your logic was applied to ANY job then females wouldnt be appointed to ANYTHING in ANY profession in fear of them falling pregnant.

Luckily many outdated ways of thinking are leaving the service (i had to seek 'permission' off my CO to leave the barrack block to live in my own house i had bought at 21 with my girlfriend..... when he was a wet-behind-the-ears Pilot Officer aged 23 straight out of Cranwell, single, living in the Officers Mess - I ahd already served 5 years including tour of Germany and i had to ask 'him?!') - and i've worked with many a capable WRAF (actually 'WRAF' was disbanded in my service time amd all females included into the actual RAF so 'WRAF' doesnt exist!) and in my experience most of the females i worked with more than matched the blokes.....
