Drove a friends car with a bike on its roof rack 'under' a max height bar (for cars)

leaving Felixstowe docks, despite lots of shouted warnings from the customs guys.
It didn't go under........ some dubious link with current defensive problems - the friend and car were German, early signs of car crashes at set pieces?
