Think the change was for with the aim of being able to get the Prem & stay there

Hence the change in style which, it was thought, would better equip us to do so were we to get promoted.
I happen to think it was/is bold. As for whether it was brilliance, time will tell - not looking like it at this moment but still prepared to give it time
