Value for money

I think we're all agreed we're doing things on the cheap in terms of incoming players this summer, but we must still be paying out some big wages. So, who in the squad is soaking up that budget and are they delivering value for money....

Cam Jam - not really, no
Nelson - yes
Pritchard - injured
Wes - yes (that pass v Fulham....)
Jarvis - no
Tettey - no
Martin - not really, no
Maddison - yes
Murphy - probably (assuming not on big bucks)
Reed - jury is out (I reckon we're paying a decent chunk but he seems to be a good signing) I'll give him a tentative yes, too soon to judge.
Gunn - yes
Naismith - no
Klose - not really, no. I appreciate he's injured at the moment, but he wasn't good enough last season compared to his cost
Wildschut - big improvement, but to answer the value for money question, the answer must be no.

All other newbies - too soon to properly judge

But, going through that, the issue is clear; we're still paying big bucks to players that aren't delivering, meaning we have to shop in the bargain basement in other positions, and those players come with a bit of settling time / limitations (tbc which later in the season).

So, back to what Webber said when he first came in, it will take more than one transfer window to get this sorted.

I don't think we're as poor as some make out, we're just getting s**t value for money in the places that our budget is being soaked up.
