Balance of the squad

Quick question/test. List what you consider to be our best 11 players and then work our how many of them are:

1. Defenders; and
2. Were already at the club before this summer.

For me the only defenders who make the list are Pinto and Klose and I think that illustrates quite clearly that we have not yet got the balance of the squad anywhere near right.
